buddha decided to accompany me on a little camping trip this past weekend. we stayed at Rocky Gap State Park in Flinstone, Maryland. then we went to Mill Run, Pennsylvania where we got to see Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece home, "Falling Water."
we stopped at the very nice rest stop when we get into PA and it totally made me smile.
a view from the visitor center.
looking out over the landscape.
so, made it to falling water. when I saw the sign my heart started beating.
this happened to be on the walk down to the house. beautiful.
and then i saw it...
I was blown away.
It hangs entirely over the stream and waterfall.
here is a photo joiner of the back.
Love organic architecture.
This really is love for nature.
The "front door" is on your left.
a picture worth no words. only the feeling of awe.
Checked out Kentuck Knob, another FLW house nearby, but I didn't want to pay to get in so just took a few photos of the sculpture garden.
an apple core.
some fancy bird houses.
After that, we went on a hike through Ohiopyle State park.
I call it: Moss on a rock.
I call it: Mushrooms on tree.
This was on a hike through my campsite which was at Rocky Gap State Park in Flinstone, Maryland.
Lake Habeeb
The Canyon Overlook was impressive.
A spider and his web, undisturbed.
Met a little aggressive deer who was ready to attack. He stomped his feet and snorted and stood his ground. I was about 15 feet away and pretty startled when I saw him.
And that concludes my magical weekend excursion through the woods.
:)
That's a lot of great photos. I've done the Fallingwater thing a few times.
