Morning Hike

Last night, I went on a little run around Canisteo. It was fun to look around at small town life. When I returned, I filled up on some water and sat down to relax with a nice cup of Spiced Chai Tea.

Grace (4 years old) wanted to go for a hike up to the water tower behind Ashley's house; I decided to join them. I was impressed by the view from the water tower. I wanted to go back up myself and explore a little further into the woods.

This morning I woke up and everyone was gone! So, I got on my hiking shoes and grabbed buddha. We hiked up to the water tower and sat a while looking out over Canisteo. It was fantastic and ultra peaceful.

Niagra Falls.

On my way to New York, I decided to stop by Niagra Falls.

There was also this really cool dam

The Niagra Electric Company building. In a state of disrepair, but it was still a very cool building.

I don't know what happened to Buddha's picture! But he Enjoyed.

So did I.

Arizona/Montezuma's Castle/Grand Canyon

On Wednesday, I hopped a flight to Arizona!

Thursday morning, I woke up, and got to have breakfast from the back yard. The grapefruit tree was just asking to be picked. I had a nice coffee and grapefruit before making out way up to the grand canyon. |Buddha was ready for me waiting outside of my Uncle's house in Chandler, AZ. |

We started our drive up to the Grand Canyon and stopped by Montezuma's Castle. It is an ancient indian habitat built into the rocks near a river.  Here are some photo joiners of Montezuma's Castle in the background.

We saw a nice little tarantula hiding in the wall just waiting to feed on an innocent little child that isn't paying attention. mmmm, children.

The dwelling in the rocks.

These were the most beautiful trees ever.

We drove up through a little town called Sedona, where we walked around through some of the shops and shared a drink on the balcony with a nice view of the mountains.

We decided to take a little hike in preparation for our Grand Canyon adventure the next day.

Church on the rocks. It was awesome.

On Friday morning we hiked down into the Grand Canyon. It was a 6 mile hike down to the plateau point, and then obviously a 6 mile hike back. We hiked down the Bright Angel Trial. It is one of the most popular trials but definitely a tough one.

The trial off to the right.

Out on the plateau looking back from where I came. I started at the ridge of this canyon.

A spectacular view from the end of the plateau.

Looking over the edge of the plateau, was the Colorado River.

summer blog.

I've decided to revisit my travel blog. I am hoping to do a considerable amount of traveling over the course of my summer, and I decided that I am going to take Buddha with me, to keep me company. He will get to see all the lovely and exotic places that I get to see!

For those of you that do not know, a friend that I love dearly, has listed me on her flight benefits. It means that I am able to fly standby wherever I want... for free. I am never guaranteed to get on a flight, but I am not going to complain if I can go somewhere and not have to pay for it.

After having me on her benefits for a while now, I am finally done with school (chicka-chicka what?) and ready to use them!

Before leaving for New York this weekend, to live with my former school roommate, Ashley, I thought I would test this whole flying thing out. So, last night, I spontaneously booked a flight to go to Arizona! I may or may not be able to go today. The flight is pretty booked, so its going to be risky. I am going to give it a try anyway. I wont know until I get to the airport. Wish me luck!

If all works as planned, I will be driving with my mom and her friend, who are already there, to the Grand Canyon tomorrow. Going to hike it on friday, and then come home saturday. AHHH. My hopes are high, and I am going to take it hour by hour. And see what unfolds.

Buddha are you ready?
